On October 24, the German National Academy of Science and Engineering announced the results of the 2023 academician election, and Professor Wei Yiming of Beijing Institute of Technology was elected as an academician of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering.

Acatech-National Academy of Science and Engineering, also called the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (German Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften), is the highest honor and consulting academic institution in the German engineering technology field. It has more than 600 academicians, all outstanding researchers from the fields of engineering, natural sciences and humanities and social sciences.

In addition, in June this year, Professor Wei Yiming was elected as a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering.
