On December 18,2021, the launch meeting and achievement exchange meeting of "Low-carbon Winter Olympics Monitoring and Carbon Neutralization Key Technology Demonstration Project" was held in Beijing.More than 40 people including leaders of the China Agenda 21 Management Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Committee of the 2022, Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology and other units, members of the project expert advisory group and project participants attended the meeting.The meeting was presided over by the project leader, Professor Wei Yiming.

This project is led by Beijing Institute of technology, jointly undertaken by Tsinghua university, Beijing university of aerospace, Hefei institute of material sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing national speed skating pavilion management co., LTD. and other units .The project is set to meet the needs of national carbon neutral strategy and the reality of green demand of low carbon Winter Olympic Games,  research and develop monitoring and carbon neutral control key technology, realize the winter carbon emissions data source collection fusion and panoramic control interaction, evaluate the linkage of the economic development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and social environment, finally put forward the Olympics carbon neutral path and scheme.
