On December 25th, Academician Jiang Lan, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the university, led a team to visit Xiamen ShuangShi Middle School in Fujian Province and delivered the first report on the opening of the academic festival and science and technology festival of the middle school. Ling Ou’yang , the principal of ShuangShi Middle School, and the four vice principals and the main cadres of the Academic Affairs Office had a warm reception.

With the title of "Femtosecond Laser Micro-nano Manufacturing", Academician Jiang LAN focused on cutting-edge technology and brought a feast of popular science to more than 1,000 teachers and students. Starting with the relationship between length and spatial scale and space and time, Academician Jiang demonstrated the important scientific value of femtosecond laser in simple terms from small to grand, and introduced the cutting-edge application scenarios of femtosecond laser in medicine, life science and other fields, which aroused great interest on the scene. Afterwards, Academician Jiang introduced the innovative research and technological breakthrough of his team in femtosecond laser micro-nano manufacturing. He encouraged students to have the scientific spirit of pursuing truth and climbing heights, to innovate, to make breakthroughs, and to work hard for dreams. Finally, Academician Jiang introduced the red gene and achievements of BIT in recent years. Through a series of data, he showed the strong strength of BIT in student cultivation and scientific research, and encouraged students to come to Beijing Institute of Technology to realize their greater scientific dreams.
