On October 30,2023, The 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition has come to an end, Our student team composed of eight undergraduate students, including Zhai Jianqiao, Han Yitong and Guo Kaiyuan, Under the guidance of Professor Wang Zhaohua, Professor Wang Bo and Professor Zhang Bin, and with the help of our industry mentors, "Facing Peak Moment: How to Solve the Problem of Short-term Power shortage in China", won the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition philosophy and social science track special prize!

The project had more than a year’s preparation and grinding. the team repeatedly carried out field research, starting from the residents side to find the source of the power shortage problem in China. By building a multiple target collaborative optimization model, they found the optimal compensation strategy. The strategy has been applied in the summer peaks in our country, and provided a scientific and reasonable management plan to protect the national energy security.
