On October 29th, 2021 Contemporary Economics PhD Innovation Project Certificate awarding ceremony and Academic Exchange meeting was held in Beijing.Dr. Yang Tingru, a doctorate student of the Research Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, and her dissertation "Research on Regional Environmental Economic System Dynamic Optimization Modeling and Environmental Governance Mechanism" was selected as the "PhD Innovation Project of Contemporary Economics" in 2021.

The "PhD Innovation Project in Contemporary Economics" was established by the Foundation for Contemporary Economics.The purpose of the project is to encourage and fund outstanding doctoral graduates of Chinese universities who are interested to make innovative contributions in the field of economics, and devote themselves to research in frontier academic fields and contribute to the innovation and development of economic science.The project was established in 2016 and is funded once a year, with up to 10 young scholars each time. A total of 60 people have been funded, with each recipient receiving a funding of RMB 100,000 yuan before tax.Yang Tingru received a PhD in economics from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2021, and her instructor is Professor Liao Hua.Previously, Dr. Mi Zhifu and Dr. Wang Qian from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy were selected into the project in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
