On May 29, 2019, Prof. Frank Behrendt, Academician of the German Academy of Engineering and Professor of Berlin University of Technology, was appointed consulting professor of Beijing Institute of Technology.Academician Zhang Jun attended the appointment ceremony and presented the letter of appointment to Professor Frank Behrendt on behalf of the school.The appointment ceremony was hosted by Jin Haibo, Vice Director of Human Resources .

　　Professor Frank Behrendt is a professor at the TU Berlin. His research interests include energy process engineering and conversion and renewable energy technologies.

　　In 2007, he was elected as an academician of the German Academy of Engineering (acatech) and in 2016 he was elected as a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering (SATW).Since 2008, Professor Frank Behrendt has been the German representative of the International Energy Agency (IEA) technical cooperation project “burning emission reduction”.Since 2012, Professor Frank Behrendt has served as an international representative for the German Academy of Engineering “Energy and Resources” and served as a board member of the Council of Engineering and Technical Sciences (CAETS) between 2013/2014 and 2017/2018.
