Inception Seminar of NSFC Innovative Research Group Project "Management of Coordinated Development of Resource, Environment, and Economy" Su

Recently, the inception seminar for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Innovative Research Group Project "Management of Coordinated Development of Resource, Environment, and Economy" was grandly held at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). The seminar was attended by Liu Zuoyi, Deputy Director of the Department of Management Science of NSFC, Li Jiangtao, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Office of the Department of Management Science, Wang Bencong, Standing Committee Member of the BIT Party Committee and Vice President of BIT, along with heads of the Research Office, School of Economics, and School of Management, as well as project leaders, invited experts, and key team members. The seminar was chaired by Xin Xiangjun, Executive Deputy Director of the Research Office.

In his opening speech, Wang Bencong expressed sincere gratitude to the attending experts for their support and concern for the school. He introduced the significant achievements of BIT in scientific and technological innovation and its contributions to serving national strategies. He expressed the hope that the experts at the seminar would provide valuable insights for the Innovative Research Group, and he hoped that the project team would make greater breakthroughs and contributions to the major strategic needs of the coordinated development of resources, environment, and economy in China.

Liu Zuoyi, Deputy Director of the Department of Management Science of NSFC, stated in his speech that the Innovative Research Group Project "Management of Coordinated Development of Resource, Environment, and Economy" is closely aligned with the pulse of the times, serving China's comprehensive green economic and social transformation. He looked forward to the project achieving fruitful research results. Liu also detailed the future funding directions, new management requirements, and emerging competitive challenges of the NSFC, offering guiding suggestions for the future development of the Innovative Research Group.

Professor Wang Zhaohua, the project leader, delivered the inception report, providing a detailed introduction to the development process of the project team, the basis of collaboration, the main innovative work, and the future research plans. He emphasized leveraging the disciplinary strengths of BIT and continuing to utilize its advantages in scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation to achieve the expected goals of the Innovative Research Group with high quality.

During the project consultation session, invited experts, including Professor Li Yijun from Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Gao Ziyou from Beijing Jiaotong University, President Guo Jianhua from Beijing Technology and Business University, Researcher Zeng Dajun from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zeng Saixing from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Chen Shiyi from Fudan University, Professor Bi Jun from Nanjing University, and Researcher Deng Xiangzheng from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attentively listened to the project report. They provided valuable suggestions on key scientific issues, theoretical innovations, and implementation paths for the future research of the Innovative Research Group.

The inception seminar for the NSFC Innovative Research Group Project "Management of Coordinated Development of Resource, Environment, and Economy" focused on critical scientific issues in the management of coordinated development of resources, environment, and economy. Through high-level academic exchanges, the seminar laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project and the systematic advancement of scientific research.
