On February 4th, [Mingli Lecture Hall, 2020] I was lucky enough to invite Qiu Liangfei, Associate Professor of Information System and Operation Management, Warrington School of Business, University of Florida, to bring you an academic report entitled "Wage Elasticity of Labor Supply in Real-Time Ridesharing Markets: An Empirical Analysis".The host of the report is Jia Lin, associate professor, Department of Management Science and Engineering, School of Management and Economy.

Teacher Qiu Liangfei introduced the research on the wage elasticity of labor supply in the ride-sharing market, and discussed the relationship between working hours and wage elasticity.Mr.Qiu first introduced the basic situation of the Uber and Lyft ride-sharing markets. With taxi drivers as a research object, a teacher used a series of tools to measure the labor supply and wage distribution level. Through the regression model analysis, the higher the average wage per hour, the less the working hours.Teacher Qiu also introduced the other characteristics of taxi drivers' salary flexibility to everyone through a series of tests, which is of good inspiration and guiding significance for the formulation of personalized subsidies and incentive policies.

In the report, Mr.Qiu Liangfei interacted with the participating teachers and students in real time, and had heated discussions and exchanges on the theoretical support and research related issues of the paper. The report responded warmly and received unanimous praise from the teachers and students.

Qiu Liangfei, Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of the Warrington School of Florida.He received his PhD from the University of Texas, Austin in 2014.His current research focuses on predictive markets, social networking and social media platforms, telecommunications networks, and information systems economics.Several of his research results have been published in prestigious academic journals, such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems.He won the INFORMS Information Systems Association Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award and the Information Systems Association (AIS) Early Career Award in 2019.His academic part-time jobs are: Deputy Editor of the MIS Quarterly Editorial Board, Senior Editor of Production and Operations Management, and Deputy Editor of Decision Support Systems.
