On November 24th, the 57th issue of 2021, we are honored to invite Associate Professor Wang Bin from Shanghai University to give an academic report entitled "Digital Workplace from the perspective of Work Design Theory". Hundreds of students and faculty from the School of Management and Economics and other universities participated online. The report was presided over by Mr. Wang Ying from the Department of Organization and Human Resources Management of the College. In this report, based on three series of studies published in the Annals of Academy of Management, Applied Psychology and Industrial and Organizational Psychology, This paper focuses on the theoretical value of the Work Design perspective in understanding the digital workplace. In the report, Mr. Wang introduced the development and research process of job design, the theoretical perspective and empirical findings of the combination of information communication and job design, and also introduced the future research direction of the field.
The report aroused great interest of teachers and students, and launched a heated discussion and exchange. The whole report is full of dry goods, lively and interesting, received the teachers and students praise.
Introduction to Mr. Wang Bin
Wang BIN, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF School of Management, Shanghai University, was selected as the winner of "Pujiang Talent Program" in Shanghai, "Ren Huai Scholar" in School of Management, Shanghai University, and "National Outstanding Self-Funded Overseas Student Scholarship" by Ministry of Education. Research interests include job design, failure management, and the intersection of management and cognitive neuroscience. He has presided over a National Natural Science Foundation of China project, and has published more than 20 SSCI retrieval papers in top business journals such as Academy of Management Annals and Journal of Organizational Behavior. A number of management cases won the "National 100 Excellent Management Cases". He is currently a member of the editorial board of Entrepreneurship Research Journal.
