At 5:00 pm on June 6, 2019, Professor Pan Jiahua, director of the Institute of Urban Development and Environment of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was invited to visit and gave an academic report entitled "The Theory and Practice of Ecological Civilization for 70 Years."The report was presided over by Professor Tang Yujun, Associate Dean of the School of Management and Economics. The teachers and students of the School of Management and Economics participated in the report.
Pan Jiahua is Director of the Institute of Urban Development and Environment, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and academic committee member .He is also the president of China Urban Economics Association and the vice president of China Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association and Promotion Association.In 1992, he received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University. His research mainly include economics of sustainable development, energy and climate policy, and the world economy.He has served as the National Foreign Policy Advisory Committee and the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.He has published more than 300 articles in Chinese and English publications in domestic and foreign journals.Received the first prize of the outstanding scientific research achievements of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (thesis, 2004) and the second prize (monograph, 2000), Sun Yefang Economic Science Award (2011), and was awarded the 2010/2011 China Green Person of the Year, China Environment (Baosteel) Award (2016).
In today's report, Prof. Pan introduced the essence, elements and background of the ecological environment, and combined his decades of work experience and life experience to introduce the ecological environment of New China in four stages.Then he reviewed the performance of the past work and the challenges of the future. Finally, he made a summary from motivation analysis and theory understanding, and looked forward to the future.After the report, Professor Pan took a group photo with everyone.
