I. Provisions for the pre-pleading system of doctoral thesis
1. Doctoral thesis pre-pleading is the quality review of the thesis before the doctoral student completes the dissertation writing and is about to enter the review.The purpose is to investigate the main problems of the doctoral thesis through the review of the dissertation and the research by experts.
2. After the prepleading is passed, the doctoral student can conduct academic misconduct check on the dissertation, and the dissertation can enter the anonymous review stage after the check.
II.Conditions for granting pre-pleading
The doctoral student's application for pre-pleading should have the following conditions:
1. Completion of the training session review, and move from the graduate training management system to the degree management system
2. Completion of the preparation of the dissertation, and the instructor reviews and agrees to the pre-pleading
III. Pre-pleading process
(1) After completing the writing of the dissertation, the doctoral student submits a pre-pleading application for the doctoral thesis to the instructor at least 2 months before the blind review.
After reviewing and agreeing by the instructor, fill out the review comments and the list of pre-pleading committee in the “Beijing University of Technology doctoral thesis pre-pleading review form” and submit it to the affiliated school.
(2) The School shall review the conditions for the pre-pleading application, and unifiedly organize the pre-pleading in accordance with the first-level discipline.
(3) At least 10 days before the pre-pleading, the doctoral student shall deliver the dissertation to the pre-pleading experts, and the pre-pleading information shall be disclosed within the School 3 days before the pre-pleading.
(4) The pre-pleading procedure is as follows:
1. The pre-pleading secretary introduces the experts of the pre-pleading committee.
2. The pre-pleading person reports on the meaning of the topic, academic background, research methods, innovation points, arguments and evidences.
3. The Pre-pleading Committee shall conduct a rigorous and serious review of the doctoral thesis, focus on the academic level and innovation, the workload, academic norms, and etc., and propose specific amendments to the deficiencies and problems in the thesis.
4. The Pre-pleading Committee will adopt a secret ballot to make the following resolutions:
(1) Pass the pre-pleading.
(2) After a revision, take a pre-pleading again.
(3) Failure to pass, delay the pleading.
5. The pre-pleading secretary counts the votes and announces the resolution of the pre-pleading committee.
6. After the pre-pleading is completed, the experts of the Pre-pleading Committee fill in the relevant contents of the “Beijing Institute of Technology doctoral thesis pre-pleading review form” and the leaders of the affiliated school sign the opinions. Before the student's diploma granting, the school retains the "Beijing Institute of Technology doctoral thesis pre-pleading review form" for reference.
IV.The results of the pre-pleading and their treatment
1. After the pre-pleading dissertation is revised according to the opinions of the pre-pleading expert group, the school and discipline responsibility professor group will review and fill out the “Doctoral thesis revision review form (pre-pleading)”, and if agreed, the doctoral thesis can enter the academic misconduct check and anonymous review.
2. After a revision, take a pre-pleading again.If the paper can be revised according to the opinions of the experts within 15 days and approved by the instructor, a re-prepleading can be arranged.
3. The pre-pleading does not pass or a re-prepleading is still unqualified.An application for extension should be submitted to the Graduate School Training Office in a timely manner. Upon approval, an application for pre-pleading can be filed again after half a year.
